DeltaRail is one of the leading independent railway technology advisors in Europe who supply advanced solutions to improve business performance for
our customers across the entire railway system. DeltaRail was originally owned by a parent company called AEA Technology who are advisors in the
field of environmental consultancy, operating in the UK, Europe, the US and China.
Business Challenge:
b2Lateral were commissioned to setup an entirely new infrastructure and to perform the migration of services from AEA
Technology to the new hosted infrastructure owned by DeltaRail.
Solution:
There have been a number of phases to the project and the first phase was to commission a temporary infrastructure and migrate the current
infrastructure in AEA Technology. The initial migration included the implementation of 6 standalone site servers hosting various portions
of data and a 3 Node NetWare 6.5 SP6 Cluster connected to an IBM SAN Infrastructure. Once a solid LAN infrastructure was in place a
secondary 3 node NetWare 6.5 SP6 Cluster was implemented and a cluster-to-cluster migration was done as well as data consolidation from
the 6 standalone site servers, after which the temporary cluster and SAN as well as the site severs were decommissioned.
